Putting it all together

There are two elements in costing a new site. First there is the cost of designing your site, which obviously varies from case to case. then there is a fixed monthly charge for "hosting" and management.

Design Costs
The cost of designing your site will vary, but as a rule of thumb you should expect to pay between $2,000 and $5,000 for a modest site. If you can provide copy, artwork and a reasonable rough of the layout you would like, you can reduce design costs considerably.

Hosting Costs
The cost of hosting your web site is much more straightforward. We will apply a monthly rate which is based upon a simple sliding scale dependant upon the size and popularity of your particular site.

"Standard Level" Web Hosting starts at a low $55 (+GST) per month for up to 50Mb of Web Pages and Images generating up to 250MB of web traffic per month.

"Corporate Level" Web Hosting charge is $155 (+GST) per month for up to 100Mb of Web Pages and Images generating up to 500MB of web traffic per month..

Optional Extras
If you need custom digital artwork (perhaps to redraw your logo as an animated icon), you should expect to pay between $300 and $1000 dollars for each design.

If you need programs written (CGI, Java etc) to produce more dynamic pages with user interaction, you should budget for between $300 and $1000 for each program. This sort of thing can be especially effective (for example) if you want an on-line database which users can query and/or update. Our clients are encouraged to use FrontPage Web Authoring tools to remotely administer their web site. This excellent program enables you to update your site directly and is ideal for keeping your site looking "fresh". FrontPage may be purchased from most computer stores for approx. $160 and is available to run under all versions of MS-Windows.
